Pastor Summer Sattora may be new to the Hudson Valley, but she is no stranger to New York State, specifically New York winters, originally coming from Western New York and most recently having served a church in the North Country right on the shores of Lake Ontario. She is excited to find herself downstate and will definitely argue with you over where, in fact, “upstate” actually is. She first heard God calling her on a work trip with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, although it would be a few years before she realized it, said no, and then finally said yes. She is a graduate of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, NY where her passion for social justice was found. Many years prior to answering God’s call she received her BFA in Theatre from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and will still refer to herself as an actor to this day. She is the oldest of four girls, a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a loving cat mom to a grumpy old man Siamese named Rocky and an always amusing and cuddly orange and white cat named Josh Allen. Yes, she is a member of the Bills Mafia, although she hasn’t broken any tables. Yet. She is an avid reader, loves the TV show Supernatural and watching Hallmark movies, and enjoys finding those places where the sacred can be found in pop culture, especially when she can work it into a sermon.
